Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new action trailer
for "GI Joe 2: Retaliation”
Plot: GI Joe team faces off against Zartan (Arnold
Vosloo), his accomplices, and the world leaders he has under his influence.
Dwayne Johnson plays Roadblock, Adrianne Palicki is Lady Jaye, DJ Controna is
Flint, RZA is Blind Master, Joseph Mazzello is Mouse, Elodie Yung is Jinx, and
Bruce Willis is the original Joe.
Though G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was not
everyone’s favorite film of 2009, it was successful enough the world over to
give way to a sequel - G.I. Joe: Retaliation. And that sequel, which was
supposed to hit theaters last summer, was, to the surprise of many, delayed
nearly a year for 3D conversion and reshoots (that may or may not include more
Channing Tatum).
We’ve seen a few theatrical trailers and TV spots
already, and now we have a 90-second spot that primarily focuses on a
mountain-climbing fight sequence between Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and a bunch of
ninjas (once again to the tune of Jack White’s ‘Seven Nation Army’). We also have word that four minutes from the
film will be debuting before Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.
The 90-second spot starts out with a confrontation
between mortal ninja enemies, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (Byung-hun Lee).
Naturally, this leads to the aforementioned mountain-climbing fight between
Snake Eyes and a whole bunch of other ninjas, whom Snake Eyes proceeds to cut
down, one after the other. In mid-air. Thousands of feet off the ground.
"GI Joe 2" is directed by Jon Chu (Justin
Bieber: Never Say Never) and is set to hit theaters on March 29th.
